Under supervision of IT management, design, develop, test, and maintain specialized technical software solutions for enterprise clients. Write and debug code in ILE RPG, RPG/400, COBOL/400, SQL/400, CL/400, and Embedded SQL RPG ILE. Develop, configure, and customize JD Edwards ERP modules and related business logic.
Analyze business and technical requirements; produce functional and technical design specifications. Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing. Document software functionality, data flows, and program logic. Troubleshoot and resolve application defects; optimize application performance on AS/400 and IBM i platforms.
Coordinate with business analysts and client IT staff to gather requirements and deliver solutions on schedule. Ensure all deliverables conform to established coding standards and SDLC practices. Technologies used include: AS/400, ILE RPG, RPG/400, COBOL/400, SQL/400, CL/400, Embedded SQL RPG ILE, Free Format ILE RPG, Synon, JD Edwards, OS/400, DB2/400, MS Access, MS Visio, ICBS, RxClaim, Info2000. May perform some or all of the above tasks depending on scope of each project assignment. Work involves travel and/or relocation to various unanticipated client sites across the USA.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, any Engineering or Technology field, or a closely related field; and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including a minimum of 2 years in the specific technologies identified above.
