Under supervision of senior management, design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale computer system architectures for clients across multiple industries. Evaluate existing system infrastructure and recommend architectural improvements that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
Create and maintain detailed technical specifications, architectural diagrams, and design documentation. Oversee implementation of complex multi-tier systems, ensuring alignment with approved architecture patterns and best practices. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform capacity planning, performance modeling, and system optimization analysis. Assess system security posture and recommend remediation strategies. Coordinate with hardware vendors, software vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of integrated solutions.
Technologies used include: AS/400, IBM i (iSeries), OS/400, DB2/400, enterprise integration platforms, virtualization, storage area networks, and disaster recovery frameworks. May perform some or all of the above tasks depending on the scope of each project assignment. Work involves travel and/or relocation to various unanticipated client sites across the USA.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or any closely related field; and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in enterprise systems design and architecture, including a minimum of 2 years in the specific technologies identified above.
